Acorn Agri & Food announces two new appointments to the board of directors

Acorn Agri & Food is proud to announce that it has appointed Charmel Flemming and Robert Goff to its board of directors effective 24 July 2019.

Charmel Flemming

Robert (60) holds over 35 years of experience in human resources management. He joined Sanlam in Cape Town in April 2004 in the capacity of chief executive, human resources. Robert was responsible for the full human resources function of Sanlam Personal Finance, the biggest business in Sanlam in revenue turnover as well as staff complement. He retired from this position in December 2018. Prior to joining Sanlam, Robert served as the human resources executive for Sub-Saharan Africa at Motorola International. In addition to his role in human resources, he was also responsible for ethics and corporate governance. He served in this capacity from December 1998 until April 2004. He is currently assisting with human resources/governance work on a part-time contractual basis for African Rainbow Capital (ARC). Robert earned a BA and BProc degree from the University of the Western Cape.
Charmel, (36), is the founder and chief executive officer of F Twelve – a company that assists with the implementation of innovative cloud-based accounting technologies and management solutions. Prior to this, she held various positions within the De Beers Group. She also served as a trustee on the boards of both the De Beers Benefit Society Medical Aid and De Beers Pension Fund from 2014 to 2018. In addition to her current position at F Twelve, Charmel fulfils the role of chairperson at Fresh Bread Ministries and deputy bursar and Audit and risk committee member at the Anglican Diocese of Johannesburg. In March 2019, she was appointed as a co-opted board member of the ATKV MSW. As a certified chartered accountant, she earned a B.Acc (Hons) from the University of the Free State.
